With the springtime months quickly approaching (good riddance, winter!), we find ourselves deep-diving into the new releases of swimwear this year. Look out spring breakers, because we have quite the roundup for you. Here are some of the hottest trends and brands of swimwear that you need for spring break 2021.

Let’s hop right into the styles you should be shopping this year. Similarly to our S/S 2021 trend article, we can see a lot of parallels to everyday fashion in this season’s swim. From asymmetrical details and vintage aesthetics, what’s worn in the water and on the street has some similarities. Yet with other styles, experimental materials and pin-up silhouettes emerge for our beachwear. Keep scrolling to get the full deets the styles we need this spring and summer!

Glitz and Glam

Your tan won’t be the only thing about you that glows! This new trend is taking over our favorite swim brands, and we can’t say we’re mad about it. Level up your swim collection with these glitzy styles.

Trendy Terrycloth

Long gone are the days that the only terrycloth in your beach bag was your towel. The latest and greatest trend in swimwear this season has to be terrycloth bikinis.

Balconette Bikini

This style that once raged in the pin-up days is making a comeback just in time for spring break. Jump on this trend to sport a trendy bikini that is still perfectly classy.

Asymmetrical Straps

Chic One-Piece

A silhouette that is here to stay? The chic one-piece. Whether yours has cut-outs, sexy slits or is simply sporty-chic, this style is sure to keep you looking classy and cool all summer long.

Teeny-Tiny String Bikini

The saying less is more found its favor with this trend. The itty-bitty bikini comes back in style from its early 2000’s days, making a splash in some of our favorite swim brands’ latest collections.

Animal Antics

The animal print trend is far from over, and we’re personally loving it for our 2021 swim. Whether you like them neutral or a palette of crazy colors, these prowling prints are all the rage this season.

Vintage Vibe

Take it back in time with these retro styles that are making a comeback this spring break. From boat necklines to groovy prints, you’ll be sporting a look that even your mother will love.

Neutral Palette

Accentuate your tan with this summer’s sizzling neutral shades. Varying shades of beige, mocha and toffee are sure to give your next swimsuit a level of high-fashion.

Brands We Love

Now that you know the styles to shop… where should you search for them? Never fear, for D-RAVEL is here. Surf the sites of some of our favorite swimwear brands this year for suits that will keep you in style.

Blackbough Swim

Philippines-based and female-born, Blackbough Swim is a brand that leads in quality and price. Each suit falls at about $50 per top and $45 per bottom, making this swim brand fairly affordable for the quality ensured. Each suit is guaranteed to be seamless and double-lined, so that you never have to worry about the durability of your suit. However, if you are on the hunt for a cute one-piece, you may want to look elsewhere, as their specialty is bikinis. In their own words, Blackbough is made “for the tropical soul.”

Toluca Swim

What’s not to love about this body-positive, all-inclusive swimsuit brand? Toluca Swim’s mission is to prove to women that swimwear is meant to fit them, not the other way around. With a size range from XS – XXXL and the ability to choose different sizes in tops and bottoms, Toluca aims to style everyone in their flattering, neutral-palette swim that is sure to be in style for years. Their prices stretch from $65-$115 depending on style, ranking them at a mid-range price for a quality swim brand. At Toluca, your swim is “designed BY womxn, FOR womxn to help you find your power.”

Frankie’s Bikinis

The words summer and Frankie’s Bikinis just seem synonymous at this point. This brand is fairly popular amongst today’s supermodels and celebrities, which explains the higher price tag on these sets (coming in at around $70-$195 depending on style). However, the pieces are well worth the money due to their quality and style. Though some of these swimsuits may be trendy, if your swim is always your favorite way to splurge, we highly suggest Frankie’s. If you are a bit choosier and want your expensive swim to last for years, then you’re still in luck with this brand! Timeless colors and styles are always available at Frankie’s in addition to this season’s latest trends.

Riot Swim

This brand is a favorite. Riot Swim is not only luxuriously made, been featured in magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE and the Zoe Report but is also fabulously Black-owned. Riot Swim is body-positive, featuring women of different, un-retouched shapes and shades right on their landing page to welcome all visitors to their site. Comprised of minimalistic details with flattering styles, this brand has a grown-up vibe that is perfect for becoming your next go-to swim suit(s). Find your next spring break swimsuit in their $60-$100 range, providing lasting quality at a reasonable price.

L Space

If you are in need of that gray space between a trendy bikini that will keep you looking fashion-forward and yet still classic enough to wear for years, then I have the brand for you. Introducing: L Space. Featuring a plethora of classic styles with just a taste of today’s influences, these $80-$200 swimsuits are perfect for becoming the next timeless, splurge-worthy pieces in your collection. Our favorite: the Shimmer Camellia Bikini Top and Shimmer Portia Bikini Bottom (shown together below).

Triangl

Since the early of the 2010’s, Aussie-born brand Triangl has been taking the world of swimwear by storm. Always providing the hottest drops and coolest collections of summer swim, this brand has solidified its place in our bikini drawers. Known for their signature sporty-sexy styles, barely-there bottoms and fun materials, this brand is always stepping up their game when it comes to your swimwear. Buy your sets from anywhere between $80-$110 with customizable options for differing top and bottom sizes. This season, step into summer (or in our case, spring break) with Triangl.

SAME

SAME Los Angeles is a high-end and ever-fashionable swim brand featuring a select few of this season’s most popular trends, such as animal print, structured underwire and more, to cultivate carefully-curated collections. We did say high-end for a reason – these prices range from $85-$285 depending on the style. However, these pieces are classy and sure to keep you looking stylish and on-trend no matter the year. And if you have a little one you want to match with this summer, SAME’s kid’s collection “samesies” features matching prints (and even some styles) to playfully pair with your classic look.

We’ve certainly given you much to think about, but finding that perfect swimsuit is no joke when it comes to spring break. Feel confident and ready to take on your trip in your latest and greatest D-RAVEL finds for the swimwear you need for spring break 2021.

As always, happy (and safe!) travels.
